American Imperialism early 20th century

The United States is a country that has been built by the stealing of land from Indigenous people and settler colonialism by Europeans. We have fabricated a story of fair treatment toward Indigenous people and White settlers who were being persecuted, but that is far from the truth. Many Indigenous lands have been taken through coercion, violence, and false treaties. However, it’s important to acknowledge the resilience of Indigenous peoples in the face of such injustices. Although we like to imagine our country as the land of free and religious freedom, our history has been built on imperialism and the oppression of many people of color, such as Natives, Asians, and African Americans.

Hawaii was once a kingdom within the Pacific Ocean, independent from the United States. Durning the United States era of Imperialism, Hawaii was doing trade negation within the Hawaiian boarders. When the King of Hawaii was ruling Hawaii, he was often coerced into giving white settlers land and port privileges. His younger sister on the other hand, she had no interest with dealing with the United States. She had rewritten the constition, and she was trying to prioritize Indigenous Hawaiians over the new white settlers. As a response, the United States decided to annax Hawaii and usurp the Queen.

In addition to Hawaii, the United States wanted to expand its borders by challenging Spain for more territory. Throughout this period, many Spanish colonies were starting to resent their Spanish overseers. Spain had many issues with Indigenous people and enslaved people revolting against them, and the United States took advantage of that information by starting a war called the Spanish-American War. This war would have a profound impact on Spain, leading to the loss of massive amounts of territory such as Puerto Rico, Guam, and the Philippines.

American history has been built on imperialism and the oppression of many people of color, such as Natives, Asians, and African Americans. The United States durning the 20th century had taken many territories through imperalizing tiny powers, and created their terriotories to expand their empire and become a world power. They claimed Hawii, Puerto Rico, Guam, The United States Virgin Islands, and Cuba (temporarily).
