My name is Cameron Schroth, I am from Mt. Zion Illinois. I am planning on majoring in Environmental Science. I look forward to learning about the Native people and history of our country. I remember the Trail of tears and some small battles but not to much about native people in general. I learned more about the nation itself and not its native people.
Hi Cameron! Welcome to HIST 281! I’m glad your here and I look forward to your insights this term! I enjoyed reading about your interests in history, and also acknowledging how there is a widespread lack of education around Native history in U.S. history courses. I am greatly looking forward to all of the sources, stories, and experiences that will help us engage with Native history beyond 1871!
I look forward to seeing how you engage with the course material and contribute to our discussions!
